If you wish to admire one of the most stunning panoramas of Madagascar, set your sights on Evatraha, a short distance from Fort-Dauphin. To get there, prepare for a magical river cruise passing through Lake Lanirano. You’ll navigate along a narrow canal lined with typhonodorum (elephant ear plants) and villages of “falafa” huts perched on dunes bordering the shoreline. This sand is where ilmenite is extracted.
