Come Meet Us!
« Antso Re » literally translates to « Call Heard » and is a National Association for Solidarity and Responsible Tourism in Madagascar. It brings together organizations convinced that sustainable development is the only answer to the social and ecological crisis facing our planet, working toward a shared vision: establishing tourism activities that combine quality services, authentic exchanges and encounters, while supporting the development of destinations and host communities.
Since tourism is a major consumer of resources, Antso Re members champion sustainability through their work: « meeting today's needs while protecting and enhancing prospects for the future ». At ANTSO RE, members share and commit to values of equity and solidarity centered around environmental stewardship, heritage preservation and local development.
- On the environmental front, the commitment focuses on respecting and minimizing the impact of activities on the environment. Concretely, this means operating as green businesses and raising awareness among all those involved in tourism—staff, local communities and travelers alike—about their environmental responsibility.
- For heritage preservation, the emphasis is on balanced exchange: promoting local distinctiveness and educating travelers to foster respectful, non-invasive encounters that honor local traditions and customs, while actively countering the pitfalls of mass tourism.
- On local development, the priority is to ensure transparent and equitable management of tourism revenues: involving local populations in tourism development and participating in solidarity initiatives, community projects and local development efforts.
