An exceptional adventure. Exploring the wilderness, crossing rivers on foot or by car, and venturing into uncharted paths—this year, the scouting team of Détours Madagascar experienced an extraordinary adventure.
Indeed, it was exceptional. The team was the first to reach the Makay Massif in a Starex vehicle. Much like the show Cars VS Wild, they faced nature head-on, dealing with challenges such as getting the vehicle stuck in the sands along the banks of the Manampanda River and navigating the rugged trails to reach the massif. As the saying goes, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained," proving that adventure and off-roading go hand in hand!

A warm atmosphere. The warmth of reunions among the trail guides, porters, and the team created a cheerful and harmonious environment. The week flew by amidst the blazing heat of the plateaus and the coolness of the canyons. Not a single moment of boredom disrupted their journey.
A time for sharing. “Mutual respect and trust developed naturally over time,” said Papa Tolo. Every scouting mission brings new encounters, extraordinary experiences, and meaningful exchanges—whether about differing perspectives or shared skills.
This expedition was also an opportunity to raise awareness among the guides and porters about the importance of preserving their magnificent and prestigious natural heritage.
