At the heart of the Menabe Region is Kirindy Forest, located 65 km North of Morondava on a dusty track, on the way towards Bekopaka and the Tsingy of Bemaraha.
The Kirindy Forest is of dry type and deciduous. It is held by a Swiss Organization, and is also a National Forestry Formation Center. This jewel of nature contains a multitude of animal and plant species, most of which are endemic to the locality, such as lemurs, reptiles, mongoose, jumping rat and many species of birds. The Kirindy Forest is famous for being the place where you can observe in peace and in its natural habitat the Fosa (Cryptoprocta ferox), biggest carnivore in Madagascar.
Diurnal and nocturnal visits of the reserve are possible on site, to fully appreciate the diversity of endemical species of this place.
In the morning, 02h diurnal visit of the dry forest, to explore with a new oeil this environment with lemurs, chameleons, fosa and other surprising fauna and flora.
We then take back the track towards Morondava, passing through Baobab Alley again.

Early departure towards Bekopaka. We pass by the famous Baobab Alley, which we will see again on our way back at sunset.
After crossing by ferry the river Tsiribihina, we drive on a chaotic track, along which some stops will be needed to strech out our legs. But the ride is very beautiful, and definitely worth it.
We arrive at Bekopaka at the end of the day, clos to the Massif of the Tsingy of Bemaraha, classified Natural World Heritage by the UNESCO.
