Travel Insurance, Assistance, and Cancellation

To participate in our tours, you must be covered by insurance for assistance, repatriation, and medical expenses abroad. We recommend subscribing to the contract below with our partner, CHAPKA ASSURANCES, assisted by AXA assistance.

Important: Covid-19, coverage under our CAP EXPLORER insurance contract:

Covered : 

  • Cancellation in case of contracting Covid-19 before departure.
  • Cancellation in case of quarantine before departure.
  • Cancellation if access to boarding is denied following a thermal scan (or other health checks) imposed by authorities or the carrier.
  • Medical expenses in case of contracting Covid-19 at the destination, and repatriation if advised by the assistance service.
  • Impossible return due to lack of transportation at the destination due to a lockdown declared by local authorities,
  • Extension of stay in case of quarantine at the destination country.

Excluded: 

  • Cancellation due to travel restrictions directly resulting from a pandemic declaration, including Covid-19, or an event known by the World Health Organization.
  • Cancellation due to illness without a medical certificate issued by a doctor.
  • Refund of all or part of the trip that has already been refunded by the tour operator or the transport company, regardless of the refund method (transfer, cash, credit, voucher…).
  • Medical coverage if the insured person travels despite the advice of their country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

CAP EXPLORER

Cap Explorer is the new insurance contract by CHAPKA, offering a global solution divided into 4 plans, tailored to your trip and your needs. You can choose the one(s) that suit you:

  •         Explorer’Multirisk: All the contract guarantees for maximum coverage before, during, and after your trip. Before departure, with cancellation guarantees for any justified cause, including exceptional events (such as strike, airspace closure, cancelled flights, attacks, natural disasters, or epidemics). You also benefit from full repatriation assistance and coverage of your medical or hospitalization expenses during your stay.
  •         Explorer’Cancellation: Necessary guarantees to protect your travel budget before departure: cancellation for any justified cause, exceptional events, impossible departure, missed flight, flight delays. The contract must be subscribed to within 48 hours after the first deposit.
  •         Explorer’Assistance: Guarantees of the Multirisk plan, excluding the cancellation option, to provide maximum coverage during your trip abroad.
  •         Explorer'Complementary Credit Card Insurance: All the guarantees of the contract in addition to your premium credit card insurance.

These insurance contracts are specific to our trips, and we strongly recommend subscribing to them. Detailed terms specifying the guarantees and claim procedures are available in the information form and quotes. You are solely responsible for following the claims procedures. Please keep the policy convention (policy number and emergency contact number) with you during your entire trip. Before your trip, in case of cancellation:

Your local agency follows the reimbursement schedule outlined in the sales conditions. This is determined based on the number of days remaining before the scheduled departure. Purchasing cancellation insurance allows you to be reimbursed (excluding the cost of insurance) for the full amount of expenses incurred due to the cancellation of your trip.

It is essential to consider this when making your reservation, as you only have a maximum of 48 hours from your first payment to subscribe.

During your trip:

Assistance and repatriation insurance covers you in case of accidents where you, your companions, or your relatives are the victims (e.g., advance of medical expenses abroad, repatriation, early return in case of illness of a relative, civil liability, legal assistance…).

Finally, baggage insurance protects you against damage, delay, or loss of your baggage.

Important: what you need to check and know:

  • Coverage limits: amount, duration…
  • Any possible deductible amount.
  • Whether your destination is covered.
  • Beneficiaries of the guarantees.

Before you leave :

  • Obtain all necessary medical assistance certificates.
  • Check for any updates to the insurance conditions with your reference organization.
  • Carry and keep your insurance policy number and assistance contact phone number on you.
  • Always notify your insurance before incurring expenses or immediately after an emergency.
