The spirit of travel
The sails billow in the trade winds as the schooner Nofy Be glides over the crystal-clear lagoons of the Mozambique Channel. Aboard this "Grand Dream", accompanied by a Vezo crew, you sail up the west coast of Madagascar from Ifaty to Morondava, at the mercy of the winds and encounters. Salary reveals its fishing villages, the splendid Bay of Assassins reveals its protected waters, Andavadoaka offers its coral reefs where tropical fish and sea turtles thrive.
The Vezo, nomads of the seas, have perpetuated their fishing and navigation traditions for centuries along these coasts bordered by mangroves and bottle baobab forests. In Morombe, a small town with western charm, the echo of zebu caravans still resonates. The days unfold between diving on the coral reef, walks in the dunes of Ambatomilo and musical evenings around campfires, punctuated by sunsets setting aflame the majestic silhouettes of baobabs.
This authentic sailing experience, far from the usual circuits, will let you discover Madagascar from the sea side, where time is measured by the tides and the whims of the wind.
