The First-Aid Kit: We recommend preparing the same first-aid kit for your children as you would for yourself. Be sure to explore our dedicated section on health and vaccinations in Madagascar.

Air Travel: A long-haul flight can be tiring… preparing your children for this journey means you'll need to keep them entertained. Additionally, Madagascar is vast—nearly the same size as France. The road network is underdeveloped and journeys can take several hours. It's therefore advisable to plan itineraries with minimal travel time to avoid spending entire days in a 4x4.

Food: In most of our accommodations, restaurants offer French and European cuisine. Your children won't feel disoriented by the dining options.

Meeting the Malagasy People: Encountering the Malagasy is even more fascinating when traveling with children. Locals will likely ask you many questions: where are you from, how old are the children, what are their names? Since people in smaller villages often speak some French, conversation flows quite naturally. Don't be surprised if your child wanders off to play and laugh with local Malagasy children. At that age, there are no barriers. That's what makes travel truly beautiful.

What to Do in Madagascar with Your Children? If your children are nature enthusiasts, they'll love exploring the national parks and discovering the endemic fauna and flora of the big island. Do your children prefer more dynamic activities? You can take advantage of the various sports activities offered in our itineraries, such as quad biking, water hiking, cycling tours, sailing trips, catamaran excursions, or pirogue outings. For horseback riding treks, children should have prior riding experience, be fairly independent, and be comfortable with longer distances.
