ARRIVAL FORMALITIES

Eligible goods :

Upon arrival, one (01) traveler is entitled to bring in the following items:

• 2 liters of alcoholic beverages;
• 2 cartridges or 20 packs of cigarettes;
• Ar 400,000 in local currency banknotes;
• Clothing and any items with no commercial character.

Special formalities :

The following items are subject to the production of specific documentation:

• Import authorization for weapons and ammunition;
• CITES permit for endangered species of fauna and flora;
• Valid rabies vaccination certificate for domestic animals (dogs, cats, etc.);
• Phytosanitary certificate and import permit (issued by countries of origin) for plants and foodstuffs.

DEPARTURE FORMALITIES

Goods not subject to export declaration for international departure.

One (01) traveler is entitled to bring out the following items:

• Ar 400,000 in local currency banknotes;
• 250 grams of hallmarked jewelry for residents;
• 1 kg of hallmarked jewelry for non-residents, subject to presentation of a currency declaration corresponding to the value of the jewelry;
• 2 kg of prepared vanilla (pod, braided);
• 5 kg of dried seeds (beans, lentils, cape peas, etc.);
• 1 kg of onions;
• 1 kg of pepper;
• 1 kg of coffee;
• 5 kg of meat (frozen, refrigerated or dried) except for the European Union;
• 10 kg of fish and seafood (frozen, refrigerated or dried) limited to 2 kg per species, purchased from approved establishments.

Special formalities :

The following items are subject to the production of specific documentation :

• CITES permit (issued by the Ministry of Environment and Water and Forests or its agents at airports) for endangered species of fauna and flora, natural products;
• Phytosanitary certificate (issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries or its representatives at airports) for plants and animal foodstuffs;
• Health certificate for animal foodstuffs and live animals (issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries or its agents at airports);

Exit authorization required for :

• "Precious woods and articles" (issued by the Ministry of Environment and Water and Forests or its agents at airports),
• "Precious metals and jewelry" (issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mines or its agents at airports),
• Foreign currency purchase authorization (issued by approved financial institutions) for exports of foreign currencies below 7,500 Euros.
• Declaration to customs for exports of foreign currencies exceeding 7,500 Euros.
