The spirit of travel

At the first light of day, the Bay of Diego Suarez reveals its turquoise waters where Sakalava dhows dance. This land at the end of the world unveils its secrets to curious travelers: the red Tsingy sculpted by erosion, the primary forests of Amber Mountain populated by crowned lemurs, and the hidden villages of the Sambirano valley where ancestral traditions still echo.

The circuit winds between Diego Suarez and its three mythical bays, the limestone formations of Ankarana where caves and Tsingys hide, then ventures into the rural intimacy of Andranomandevy and Antanambao. Here, in the heart of cacao plantations and terraced rice fields, village women share their knowledge while the healers of Ambobaka perpetuate traditional Malagasy medicine. Mahajanga, a cosmopolitan city with spice-scented air, closes this odyssey with the discovery of the Red Circus, a geological curiosity with ever-changing colors.

This journey reveals Madagascar in its most authentic diversity: postcard-like landscapes and the most touching human encounters, between preserved nature and living Sakalava culture.

Diego > Amber Mountain > Diego

Diego Suarez I Antsiranana - Amber Mountain Day visit to Amber Mountain National Park. This is a quaternary volcanic complex covering an area of 300,000 hectares. The richness of its fauna and flora makes it one of the most visited parks in the North. Accompanied by a local guide, we will discover this major botanical site of interest via the Thousand Trees Trail, ranging from lichens to orchids, from different species of palms to "strangler" fig trees, passing through the ramy, an endemic tree whose sap gives off a strong turpentine smell. The animals will not be forgotten with the 11 species of lemurs living in the park, including the crowned lemur, Sanford's lemur or the tuberculate Brookesia, one of the smallest chameleons in the world (barely 3cm in size, tail included), so small that it takes our guide's trained eye to spot it, the flat-tailed gecko, a flat gecko nicknamed the king of camouflage as it blends in with the bark of the tree to which it clings. Picnic lunch at the Roussettes Forest Station, return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Ankarana

This surreal site is visited on foot and is particularly exotic.
