1) Trekking in Terra Incognita: the Vavavato
This unprecedented trek takes us on a discovery of sublime landscapes and rare settlements. We trek through the mysterious Vavavato mountain range which rivals perfectly with the Andringitra Massif, an exclusive Détours Madagascar offering.
The crystalline bedrock outcrops and the pink granite chaos setting accentuates this very alpine atmosphere at the edges of the Ankaratra. At 2,000 meters mean altitude and less than 150 km from the capital. This pristine world invites hikers through a beautiful itinerary, a wonderful exploration.
On foot, we meet a mountain people who carefully preserve their autonomy, living in near self-sufficiency. The animist influence is very strong and, according to experts, the people living up there are the guardians of traditional Malagasy traditions.

This multi-day hike takes place in one of Madagascar's most beautiful mountain ranges, the Andringitra range located south of the Highlands.
You trek for 6 days, off the beaten path, through a very diverse region.
It is composed, in the north, of magnificent granite domes separated by lush green valleys where human activity is everywhere present, and in the south, by powerful mountains that form the Andringitra National Park and its highest point at 2,658 meters, Pic Boby.
Throughout this journey, you will encounter a traditionally welcoming and industrious people, the Betsileo with a wonderful approach to villages, culture and this mountain setting.
We end our journey in the Tsaranoro Valley which, dominated by powerful cliffs, makes it one of Madagascar's most beautiful places.

The north of Makay is rarely explored and yet extraordinarily diverse. In this unique environment, our progress on foot allows us to immerse ourselves in amazing nature.
This spectacular and intricate geomorphology has allowed, at the bottom of unexplored canyons, groups of original animals and plants to develop away from the world, to the point of creating new species. Lemurs are very present in these isolated forests but we glimpse them more than we observe them, unaccustomed to any human presence.
