  • A three-person tent will be provided for 2 people, giving you extra space for your luggage. You'll sleep on a ground mat and a 5 cm foam mattress for added comfort. We also have a mess tent that can accommodate up to 12 people. A toilet tent will be brought on certain expeditions; otherwise, we'll teach you our techniques for relieving yourself in nature while keeping the site pristine ;-)
  • Our chef brings everything needed to prepare his recipes, and when we travel by 4x4 and porters aren't required, we've arranged tables and stools for meals in real comfort.

On your end, all you need to bring are clothing, a sleeping bag, a simple toiletry kit, and your trekking essentials. For more details, please consult our "packing your bag" section.

A few notes about your sleeping bag: Depending on the region of your expedition and the altitude where you'll be camping, you'll need some advice on the climate to choose an appropriate sleeping bag.

  • For treks in the Andringitra massif and the Central Highlands, nights can be cool, so bring a sleeping bag rated for temperatures between 0°C to +5°C.
  • For other areas (Makay, Isalo, North), a sleeping bag rated between +5°C to 10°C will suffice. Choose a mummy-shaped sleeping bag with a hood and drawstring, baffle, zipper, and roughly 20cm longer than your height. This is far more comfortable.
  • A sleeping bag liner is recommended: cotton or silk, preferring elastic-fabric liners so you won't feel like a sausage. Like the sleeping bag itself, a liner wider and longer than you are is best suited.
