Airport Procedures

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

Eligible goods:

Upon arrival, a traveler is allowed to bring the following goods:  

  • • 2 liters of alcoholic beverages;  
  • • 2 cartons or 20 packs of cigarettes;  
  • • Ar 400,000 in local currency banknotes;  
  • • Clothing and any item with no commercial intent.  

Special procedures:

The following goods require specific documents to be presented:

  • Import authorization for firearms and ammunition;  
  • CITES permit for endangered wildlife and plant species;  
  • Valid rabies vaccination certificate for pets (dogs, cats, etc.);  
  • Phytosanitary certificate and import permit (issued by the country of origin) for plants and food products.  

DEPARTURE PROCEDURES

Goods not subject to export declaration for international departure.

A traveler is allowed to bring the following goods:

  • Ar 400,000 in local currency banknotes;  
  • 250g of stamped jewelry for residents;  
  • 1 kg of stamped jewelry for non-residents, provided a foreign exchange declaration corresponding to the value of the jewelry is presented;  
  • 2 kg of prepared vanilla (pods, braided);  
  • 5 kg of dried seeds (beans, lentils, Cape peas, etc.);  
  • 1 kg of onions;  
  • 1 kg of pepper;  
  • 1 kg of coffee;  
  • 5 kg of meat (frozen, chilled, or dried), except for the European Union;  
  • 10 kg of fish and seafood (frozen, chilled, or dried), up to 2 kg per species, purchased from authorized establishments.

Special Procedures

The following goods require specific documents to be presented:

  • CITES permit (issued by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Forests or its agents at airports) for endangered wildlife and plant species, natural products;  
  • Phytosanitary certificate (issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries or its representatives at airports) for plants and animal products;  
  • Health certificate for animal products and live animals (issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries or its agents at airports);

Exit Authorization Required for:

  • "Precious Woods and Works" (issued by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Forests or its agents at airports),  
  • "Precious Metals and Jewelry" (issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mines or its agents at airports),  
  • Foreign currency purchase authorization (issued by approved financial institutions) for foreign currency exports under 7,500 Euros;  
  • Declaration with customs for foreign currency exports exceeding 7,500 Euros.
