What we eat in a bivouac with Detours Madagascar ?

The malagasy food is one of the most varied in the world. With farmlands, fruits sale, vegetables and rice, cultivation is the sector that allows to many people to work. In Madagascar, we can eat very healthy. The rice is the national food. We can find lot of different rice variety but the production of the country don’t allow to feed all the population. Malagasy people eating rice  three times per day. In the street we can find many fruits and vegetables. On the coast, you will enjoy with the day fish by savouring seafood or grilled fish.Then, in the land, you will found different meat as beef, which is part of a national food. With Detours Madagascar, when you travel in bivouac, our guide turns into top chef. It is very interesting to admire the Malagasy people when they are cooking. You cannot imagine how they can cook with anything. The vegetarian, vegan or all other specific diets, are welcome. Think to specify it to your travel consultant when you make your reservation.. All kitchen utensils are transported by 4×4 or our porter. A fire, one or two cookers, and that’s all there is to it. Their technics are remarkable. Rice or French fries, always accompanied by a little salad, not forgetting the duck meat, the pork or a good beef steak, very often accompanied by a little sauce that helps to lift the food. It is important to know that the Malagasy food are very tasty . For the dessert, fruits : Malagasy people like banana. But according to the season, it can be mangos, papaw, apple or tangerine. Multitudes of fresh product that come from the Malagasy lands, and that allow you to have a nice evening around a campfire and a starry sky.
